If you just followed the tutorial on how to remove the transparent background from behind your post/sidebar area, then you are at the right spot! You may want to remove the white box that is behind all of your posts. Notice the image below has the white box behind the post. I like to remove this so it does not take away from the post I’m writing about! Follow these easy steps in this tutorial.
1.) Go to your ‘Layout’ page. Click on the blue ‘Template Designer’.
2.) Click on ‘Advanced’ and then ‘Backgrounds’. Under the ‘Post Background’ you will see a drop down for what color you want to change it to. Click on that and choose transparent. Be sure to save it by clicking ‘Apply to Blog’ in the upper right hand corner.
This is what your blog will now look like!
-To remove the gray box at the bottom of your blog, follow this tutorial.
-You will notice there is still a white box behind every post. To remove the white box that is behind all your posts, follow this tutorial.
-To remove the border that is around all your posts, follow this tutorial.
-To adjust the width of your posts and sidebars so they don’t hang off the center part of your background, follow this tutorial.

I am having a hard time with my blog. I have followed all instructions and tutorials about removing white background, changing widths, removing borders and for some reason my background will STILL not show up. What can I do to fix the problem? I am using the three column mint chevron background.
Hi Courtney! Your blog looks great from my computer…did you figure it out? The center white down the center of your background will always show up…. –Becky
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I have looked everywhere to get rid of the white box behind just my posts and this worked like a charm. However, I wanted to let you know that the post background option is not listed for all templates.
Hi! thanks for this tutorial…I got this one to work, however, I keep having the same issue with any background template I choose from your site. I have one up right now, but all you can see is the small writing/words border, you can not see any of the Chevron on the sides. It seems all of the background codes I put in, 3 column or not, do not show the background hardly at all! I’ve tried adjusting the widths tutorial, but the background picture itself seems to wide or stretched. Did I paste the code in wrong? Help!
Hi Casey, I can see about 2 inches of chevron on each side of your background. Depending on your monitor size (how wide it is) you may see more or less of the background. Hope this helps!! —Becky
I have 2 black bars at the top and bottom of my screen…what did I do to the code to make this happen? How can I make them go away? Thanks!
Hey Natalie! I don’t see the black bars…did you get it fixed? —Becky TCBOTB
